“I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?”
Job describes making a “covenant” with his eyes.
He understood that what we choose to look at can influence what we think about.
That principle has become even more practical today. Screens can bring almost anything into our homes and pockets. Images that previous generations would have needed to seek out can now appear unexpectedly—or can be deliberately accessed in seconds.
Jesus' teaching about lust means disciples should make intentional choices about what they watch.
This is not about being afraid of the human body or pretending attraction does not exist. God created human beings and designed marriage and sexuality as good gifts. The problem is using those gifts outside God's purposes or turning people into objects for selfish pleasure.
Wise boundaries help protect what is good.
Families can talk openly and age-appropriately about media choices. Devices can be used in accountable ways. If something inappropriate appears, we can turn away rather than linger.
And if someone has already developed a harmful habit, hiding it usually strengthens it. Bringing sin honestly to Christ and seeking trustworthy help can be an important step toward freedom.

Ask God for wisdom and self-control in what you choose to watch and for courage to turn away quickly from what does not honor Him.
